Shamanism
The exact meaning of the word shaman is unclear to the present day. Possible interpretations relate to the root “sa” for knowledge, to “someone working with heat and fire”, “somebody able to come in contact with gods and spirits” or “someone seeing in the dark”. All of these characterizations indicate important meanings of shamanism.
Shamans are healers, who’s earliest traces date back 40 000 years. They can be met all over the world, in every culture and on every continent. What sets them apart is their ability to change the condition of their mind and travel to hidden worlds. They use the power and wisdom found there, to effect positive changes.
Their abilities were handed down from generation to generation, improved and honed in the process. By applying this knowledge, we draw on techniques grown and tested in millennia.
